We sat down with the Parisian interior designer Christelle Litvine, to hear first hand what attracted her to the
South of Spain and how she came to make it her home.
When was the first time you came to the south?
My first visit to Andalucia was about 15 years ago, on summer holiday.
Why did you choose to live here?
Many foreigners settled on the “Costa del del sol” these last decades for the same reason. This region offers many contrasts in a small perimeter.
Do you know any other place in Europe where people are so friendly?
Where you can wake up with a wonderful weather all year round. Working with international premium clientele during day time, have business lunch with a sea view, 5 minutes from most luxury brands shops that keep you updated on the lastest trends, with no traffic, no pollution, and 15 minutes of totally wild and authentic nature?
It sounds like paradise, no?
What other city or town do you like to visit in andalusia?
Malaga, Sevilla, Cordoba an d Granada are the most famous cities, for their spectacular historical architecture, this last year we also discovered new museums and local emergent talents; Ronda area in spring or autumn when
nature is so peaceful, also small lovely villages around like Casarabonella, Setenil and Ronda la vieja.
What are you doing here? (work)
Enjoying creating nice atmospheres for interiors and outdoor spaces. We also collaborate on commercial projects as shops, restaurants, yachts. Painting and photography are also a few of my hobbies, the light is exceptional in Marbella.
What attracted you to the south of spain?
I was searching for a Spanish horse and spent my holiday time discovering Andalucia. I immediately fell in love with this country and andalucian culture.
Where are you originally from?
Paris, yes a great contrast.
Benefits of living in the south of spain?
The infrastructures of Marbella and suburbs make life very comfortable.
No traffic, open minded and very friendly atmosphere thanks to the multicultural citizens and only 2/3 hours by flight of most of European cities.
What do you most enjoy?
Horse back riding on the beach in Tarifa, a nice sunset with friends on a sailing boat surrounded by dolphins.
A walk in Cabo de gata or in the natural parks that Andalucia offers such as Donana, the Sierra de las Nieves and many other places still to discover.
Whats you favourite spainish dish?
The famous tuna from Barbate without a doubt.
Whats your must see?
A long walk at sunset in cabo Trafalgar, The Alhambra that you could visit a hundred times and never tire. Casa pilatos in Sevilla, and the mezquita of Cordoba, “as a symbol that religions can coexist with brilliance.”
